Sync
Your music in film, TV, ads and trailers.
Sync is where I want to get the artists I work with. It's also the part people most often try too early, so this page explains what it is and what it takes.

What it is
Sync, in plain words.
A sync license is permission to put a song against picture: a scene in a show, a film, a trailer or an ad. The person choosing the music is usually a music supervisor.
When they pick a song, they need a yes for the recording and a yes for the song itself, from whoever owns each one. The artist is paid a fee for the license, and when it airs there can be royalties on top, if the song is registered properly.
Supervisors work fast. A song they love but can't clear quickly is a song they skip.
What I've been part of
Real placements.
These are things I've genuinely been part of. They're not a promise that the same happens for anyone else.
Love Is Blind, Netflix
Season 9, episode 12, around the 13 minute mark.
Ginny & Georgia, Hallmark
Artists I work with have landed in Ginny & Georgia and on Hallmark.
Lionsgate trailers, JBL ads
Trailers and ads, where the music has to say everything in a few seconds.
What it takes
Sync only works on a foundation.
So there's no sync price on this page. We start with a call about where your music actually is, and build from there, usually one-on-one.
- Your business sideYour company, your accounts and every song registered, with the writers and splits right, so you can say yes on the spot and get paid when it airs.
- Your brandSupervisors pick songs from artists who know who they are. A clear brand also tells them which scenes you fit.
- Your songsMade to the briefs supervisors send, with the files and paperwork they ask for.

A competition winner

Two companies
I helped build two companies that set artists up properly, business first.
Questions
Things people ask.
Can you get my song placed?
No one honest can promise that. What I can do is get your music and your paperwork to the point where a supervisor can say yes, and show you how to send it out yourself.
Do you take a cut of my sync fees?
No. Not now and not later. The license is yours to give and the money is yours.
My songs are already out. Can they still be used?
Often, yes, if the recording and the song are owned cleanly and registered. That's the first thing we'd check.
